She has the cutest stuff...a little pricey but cute. I first saw her shirts on Jon and Kate plus 8 so I googled the name and I found Em Tanner Designs. I just bought a dry erase board and can't wait until it gets here! I know, it's kind of crazy to spend that on a dry erase board but it's so cute and huge (20x14). You can personalize it too! Check out her stuff she has shirts, lunch boxes and even plates for the kids!

A Day at the Hyatt

The other day we went with our friends to the Hill Country Hyatt Resort. It was probably our first and last visit because it was so nice but so out of our price range. So we soaked up the sun, went around and around on the "river" (they have a pool that looks like the river) you can float down it, played on the beach. This would have been a very relaxing day with my girlfriends expect our kids are 2 not 12 so we had to actually watch them :). We kept seeing all these mom's just laying around in the sun as their 11 and 12 year olds were running around. We were a little jealous...our time will come girls.
The kids by the fire pit. We didn't need a fire that day because it was a 120 degrees outside!!
The kids doing what they do best...eating.

Croque Monsieur

This is just a fancy grilled cheese and it is so good! I love sandwiches, I always wanted to open a little sandwich cafe with all sorts of sandwiches and sweets. This is perfect with soup on a cold day but since it's like 120 degrees here we'll have to wait until Jan. to eat this.

Croque Monsieur

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups hot milk
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Pinch nutmeg
12 ounces Gruyere, grated (5 cups)
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
16 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
Dijon mustard
8 ounces baked Virginia ham, sliced but not paper thin

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Melt the butter over low heat in a small saucepan and add the flour all at once, stirring with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes. Slowly pour the hot milk into the butter–flour mixture and cook, whisking constantly, until the sauce is thickened. Off the heat add the salt, pepper, nutmeg, 1/2 cup grated Gruyere, and the Parmesan and set aside.

To toast the bread, place the slices on 2 baking sheets and bake for 5 minutes. Turn each slice and bake for another 2 minutes, until toasted.

Lightly brush half the toasted breads with mustard, add a slice of ham to each, and sprinkle with half the remaining Gruyere. Top with another piece of toasted bread. Slather the tops with the cheese sauce, sprinkle with the remaining Gruyere, and bake the sandwiches for 5 minutes. Turn on the broiler and broil for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the topping is bubbly and lightly browned. Serve hot.

Who doesn't love this show? We started watching this maybe the 2nd season and get excited every Summer when it comes on (we are big nerds). I actually think about them in Oct. and Nov. I tell J, I bet the guys from Deadliest Catch are out there fishing now. Wow SUPER big nerd. Anyways, you get the picture if you haven't seen the show...watch it! It's on the discovery channel. Who would have thought watching a bunch of guys catching crab would be so interesting??

It's Summer!!

Today we went to the park pool with some of our friends. It's nice because from 10 to 12pm only toddlers can swim so you don't have to worry about your little angel getting plowed over by a teenage boy going to the pool. Our kids are like fish they can't get enough of the water but what I don't understand is Ken, she will jump off a diving board into 9 feet of water but she won't slide down the slide at the pool into 6 inches of water. What's with this girl??

Corn Dip

I have to say my sister makes this dip and it is AWESOME!! She made it for Father's Day and it is so good. I have never made it ( I'm making it for a 4th of July party) but if she makes it, it has to be easy...just kidding Shan. Did I tell you this dip is delicious?

2 cans of Mexican Corn
1 pkg cheddar cheese (the more the better)
1 can chopped olives
8oz sour cream
8 oz Real Mayo
jalapeno to taste
onion to taste

Mix in a large bowl and chill. Best if chilled overnight. Serve with crackers or frito's corn chips.

Father's Day...a day late

I know Father's Day was yesterday but I had to let my cute little husband know what a great daddy he is. Yes, I know I have probably complained to you about how he can be a you know what SOMETIMES but MOST of the time he is a awesome dad/husband...but who doesn't complain about their husband?

When Ken was a baby he was so patient with her and me, putting her in "the pocket". Reassuring me everything was going to be OK when breastfeeding didn't come so natural. And when Ken got older always explaining to her how things works. Taking her outside so she can be with her dad after he got home from work. Wanting Kendie to be fearless and I'm always saying, "be careful with her".

Babe, you are the best dad their is! You have done so much for us and we love you for it!!

Keep-it-Kleen Pacifier

Now I know K doesn't suck on a pacifier or a pow-pow as she called it but my friend has this pacifier that closes as soon as it falls. How neat is that? I wish I would have thought of this! I think with your first baby you bust out your portable sterilizer when the pow or bottle hits the floor no matter where you are, and with your second you just rub it on you pants or blow away the yuckie germs...like that really helps. If your interested you can go to RaZbaby they have a list of where you can get one and they are really cute, I'll have to remember this for Goebel baby #2.

Veggie Pasta Primavera

I made this last night and it is so good but it could have used some salt and pepper. I also put a little of the pasta water in the sauce...it was kind of thick. But other than that it was delicious.

Veggie Pasta Primavera

1 pkg. (1 lb.) linguine or fettuccine, uncooked

1 bag (10 oz.) baby spinach leaves

1 medium red pepper, thinly sliced

1 medium yellow pepper, thinly sliced

1 jar (8 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained

1 container (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Garden Vegetable Light Cream Cheese Spread

1/2 cup milk

2 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh basil

1/4 cup KRAFT 100% Grated Parmesan Cheese

COOK pasta as directed on package, adding spinach, peppers and mushrooms to the cooking water for the last 5 min. of the pasta cooking time. Remove pasta mixture from pan; drain.
ADD cream cheese spread and milk to pan; cook and stir on low heat until cream cheese is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
RETURN pasta mixture to pan. Add basil; mix lightly. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese.

Happy Birthday Shanna

Today is my sister's birthday, she is 31 today. It's weird to see that number 31. If my mom wasn't there to break us up I think we would have killed each other growing up! We were big fighters (my poor parents)I don't know how many times we heard "wait till your Dad gets home", and we would beg and plead with her not to tell him. She would get so mad at me when I wanted to wear something of hers or use her phone. She was so cool, she had her own phone line. I would tip toe into her room around 10:30 pm and get it. Sometimes I would use it sometimes I wouldn't because I would hear "What are you doing?"...SHOOT I got caught!! We had a love/hate relationship, I think most siblings have that growing up.

She was that cool big sister that had everything that you wanted like one of those really big cell phones, purple and red Reebok's, permed hair with big bangs and a new "sporty" white car. Remember all that Shanna? Now she has 2 girls of her own and I see a little of us in them. I think every girl should have a sister. Here are some pictures the 2nd picture looks like Karagen and K but it's Shanna and me.

I love this thing! It can clean almost anything crayons off the wall, cleans your outside furniture and if you have hard water it makes your sinks and bath tub sparkle. Our bathtub is one of those old ones, the porcelain is a little worn so the tub gets dirty fast. I have used so many cleaning products to clean it and finally I found this and everything just wipes away.
