Rudolph the Red-Nosed Handdeer

I told you once Thanksgiving was over I'm all over Christmas!! I made this the other day. I do have to tell you though, I am the biggest copy cat ever! Don't think that I came up with this idea all by myself. I found a similar picture , well OK not really theirs was a lot more professional looking but in 20 years I will remember that day...when we got brown paint EVERYWHERE!!:)

all you need is this....

The plate was from the dollar store and I had to mix the green and red paint. I didn't have any brown, Thank you Mrs. Gibbs for teaching me that trick in 2rd grade art.

Then just paint the hands and foot and add what ever embellishment's you wish.

** I used polypropylene to give it a little shine, once I was done painting. So please if you do that, don't eat on it**

Fall Loves

Fall is not officially over but in my book the day after Thanksgiving it's all about Christmas.

The first cold day of the year

A warm cup of hot chocolate that was made on the stove (just like my mom always made for us)

potato soup

Brown and gold leaves falling to the ground when the wind blows

Halloween candy

Snuggling under a nice soft blanket

Lighting up the chimenea on a cold night

Pumpkins and Mums

Going to the pumpkin patch and coming home and carving them!

Getting up on Thanksgiving morning and drinking coffee with J and Ken (Oh yes, she drinks coffee too, it's more milk with some coffee) and watching the Macy's parade.

Seeing the look on my babies face when she saw her favorite character's at the parade

Thanksgiving dinner...yum yum

It's 3 in the morning....

And I can't sleep! I have this blond haired kid that waltzed (did I spell that right?) into our room around 1:30 and then she kicks, tosses and turns. And I lay their still as can be, not wanting to move.

Thinking of the events that took place the day before and what's going to happen the next couple of days and what kind of wrapping paper I should wrap the Christmas presents....what??? How did my mind go from selling iron on's to wrapping paper? But I did think of some really cute ideas!

I think I'm going to push the little girl back to the middle of the bed. Just to have her attach herself to me like always...but I do love that about my little snuggle bug. I'm off to bed and I'm going to try not to think of anything!! Goodnight

Favorite Friday

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I don't think I have to tell anyone how much I LOVE this time of year! All the hustle and bustle. I have already started listening to Christmas music on the radio. I REALLY tried to wait until Thanksgiving but I just gave in.

But I do have one rule, no Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. So the day after Thanksgiving...IT"S ON! Tonight was the tree lighting downtown. When we have things like this in our town, I love living here!

I really wanted to take a video for you but I was too busy talking and missed the big countdown.

Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-Up

I'm all about getting dinner done fast and with the least amount of dishes to wash! Because I am the dish washer!! Here is something that fits into both categories...

Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-Up

1 lb. lean ground beef
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 pkg. (13.8 oz.) refrigerated pizza crust

HEAT oven to 400°F. Brown ground beef with bacon and onions in large skillet on medium-high heat; drain. Return meat mixture to skillet. Add VELVEETA; cook until melted, stirring frequently. Cool 10 min.
UNROLL pizza dough onto baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Press into 15x8-inch rectangle; top with meat mixture. Roll up, starting at one of the long sides. Rearrange if necessary so roll is seam-side down.
BAKE 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown.

Birthday Part 2

I think the Fancy Nancy party was a hit! I do love having parties. My sister always makes fun of me because I start planning like 6 months in advance. Shhh...Just between you and me, I secretly wish I was a party planner.

I love all the decorations, the goodie bags just about everything except the 10 minutes before the party! You know what I'm talking about, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Barking orders at your husband, just generally FREAKING out! And than your first guest arrives and TA DA your that loving happy family again! Or is that just the way we work??

All the girls looked so cute! I got a lot of stuff from Oriental Trading Company. I had little hot pink buckets with lime green flowers for each little girl. Filled with goodies like candy necklaces, lip gloss and nail polish and to finish it off I topped the buckets with a crown. They decorated some frames, ate some pizza (just like Nancy did at the Kings Crown). For the thank you note, I took a picture of all the girls and sent them out so they could put the picture in the frame that they made at the party.

Bare Naked Granola

I do try to feed my family healthy food. I get organic produce and sometime meat (how very Kate Gosselin of me). Well, as much as we can afford it and I also LOVE cereal! So when my sister told me about Bare Naked granola I said next time I'm going to the store, I'm getting some. I got the vanilla almond granola and it is so good! Ken even eats it for a snack. I am going to attempt to make some sort of granola bars with them. Let's see if that turns out??

Birthday Part 1

Last Friday was quite busy for my 3 year old. It's kind of strange to think that we have a 3 year old. I'm so use to saying,"she's 2". Now I'm SURE everyone is going to be on us to have another baby soon! I'm already catching the not so suttle hints my family is dropping! We went and had her nails painted and went out to lunch and than had a small family party. The Fancy Nancy party is this Saturday and she is ecstatic (that's a fancy word for excited):).

Ken about to get her nails painted

Kendie opening her presents in one of her dress up dresses, opening presents in style baby!

I had to put this video on. My sister is trying to take a picture but it is on video mode. I'm trying to hurry up before we start falling apart and Jeff is singing like a goofball. You may not think it's funny but I laugh every time I watch it. Because this is so my family! Gotta love them!

Dinosaur Cookies

No Bake Cookies AKA Dinosaur Cookies

When I was in Kindergarten my teacher, Mrs.Johnson gave us this recipe. It was on a index card tied to a wooden spoon, that had my fingerprint on it. To this day my Mom still has that wooden spoon and the recipe card, well I think she had to rewrite it. We would make these all the time! They make a ton and are easy!!

2 cups sugar - crushed up bones
1/2 cup milk - swamp water
1/2 cup butter - fat
1/4 cup cocoa - dirt
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups oatmeal- grass

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over medium heat mix together:
sugar, milk, butter, & cocoa.
Cook until well blended,
DO NOT LET BOIL.
Remove from heat and add peanut butter,
vanilla & oatmeal.
Mix well. Spoon onto wax paper & chill.
The Ferris Wheel
The 10 day salute to sausage is over. Luckily, I will get my husband back now. It is always so fun but by about the 8th day, I'm done with drinking beer, eating sausage and wearing that darn dirndl! And than there is this video. Ken and J rode the Ferris Wheel (I rode it last year and had my eyes closed the whole time) and he took this video.
Mom, I'm warning you now you probably shouldn't watch this.
Listen to the part when he says, "Just be careful". Seriously? Are you freaking kidding me?? You are on a FERRIS WHEEL!! She's not running with a sucker in her mouth! Just be careful. Oh, I do love this man. But I think I'm in charge of the safety department from now on:)
Where has the last 3 years gone?
Three years ago at 8:22 pm I held this tiny little newborn in my arms and had no idea what was in store for me. For Jeff. And for our new little family.
I had no idea the effect she would have on us, or on our hearts. She has turned them all to mush, especially Jeff. She has wrapped herself into all our lives so tight that I have no idea what in the world we ever did without her.
Three years ago I sat in the hospital room and gazed into her eyes. I held her close and said to Jeff, "Can you believe she is ours?" I soaked in every second I could.
Here are a few things you may not know about our Kendie:
She has a several nick names Kendie Sue, Kenny, Reese, Boo-Bear and my Dad calls her Bubs.
She LOVES to eat butter out of the dish.
Every time we come home she has to swing on the rail by the backdoor 3 times before she goes inside.
As girly as this kid is, she hated Ballet!
Riding in the Jeep with her Daddy.
She is super, duper feisty. Oh wait, you probably already knew that.
And this kid and all her babies and they are all named Holly.
Thanks for being my girl!
I messed up!
Last night I was adding and deleting some pictures over at Ruffles and Rhinestones when I majorly messed up my whole site! Things were everywhere!! So I spent most of last night deleting almost every picture and than putting them back on...which sucked! Jeff has been super busy with Wurstfest so I put on a movie for Ken and when I went to go check on her this is how I found her:
Needless to say I felt like the worst mother in the world! Look at my sweet baby, that is how she sleeps.
But I did add all my new items and I am working on some cute pendants so check them out!! The pendants should be up in a couple of days.
Caesar Club Sandwich
Caesar Club Sandwich
2 split (1 whole) chicken breasts, bone in, skin on
Good olive oil
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
4 ounces thinly sliced pancetta
1 large garlic clove, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 1/2 teaspoons anchovy paste
1 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup good mayonnaise
1 large ciabatta bread
2 ounces baby arugula, washed and spun dry
12 sun-dried tomatoes, in oil
2 to 3 ounces Parmesan, shaved
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place the chicken breasts on a sheet pan skin side up. Rub the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast for 35 to 40 minutes, until cooked through. Cool slightly, discard the skin and bones, and slice the meat thickly. Set aside.
Meanwhile, place the pancetta on another sheet pan in a single layer. Roast for 10 to 15 minutes, until crisp. Set aside to drain on paper towels.
Place the garlic and parsley in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade and process until minced. Add the anchovy paste, mustard, lemon juice, and mayonnaise and process again to make a smooth dressing. (Refrigerate the Caesar dressing if not using it immediately.)
Slice the ciabatta in half horizontally and separate the top from the bottom. Toast the bread in the oven, cut side up, for 5 to 7 minutes; cool slightly. Spread the cut sides of each piece with the Caesar dressing. Place half the arugula on the bottom piece of bread and then layer in order: the sun-dried tomatoes, shaved Parmesan, crispy pancetta, and sliced chicken. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and finish with another layer of arugula. Place the top slice of ciabatta on top and cut in thirds crosswise. Serve at room temperature.
Trick or Treating with the girls
Cave Girl and a Ranger Cheerleader
Good thing we had Dr. Karagen to save the day if one of these little accident prone girls fell down.
Can you tell my Grandma is holding Ken down? Just to take the picture.
Being sweet to her Granny.
