2010

Here we are at the end of another year. 2010 was another big year for me....that might be an understatement.

I had a great year at Ruffles and Rhinestones. Just when I think that I can't possible think of something else to make that can be monogrammed something comes to me. I started teaching at Kendall's school and I love it! We lost my Grandmother, not a day goes by that I don't think of my Omie. Kendall turned 5 and lots of other things that I can't think of at this moment.

2011 is going to be a brand new start for me and I am excited to see what happens on this crazy journey!

Some of the things I learned this year....

Enjoy the little things

Liar's can't be trusted

I like my hair long

Faith, Family and Friends is all you need

I love being a preschool teacher

Listen more, talk less

God will provide and everything happens for a reason

I am stronger than I think

I want to start 2011 with a positive note. Last year my "word of the year" was Simplify. Which I did. Take out all the clutter. A clutter house is a clutter mind...got that from some celebrity organizer on TLC.

This year I think it's Be Positive. We are so hard on ourselves, especially mother's. I am going to make it a point to Be Positive no matter what the circumstance. Because I come from a long line of worriers.

I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year's!

Christmas {2010}

Santa came to my grandparents house

It was hilarious! My cousin had a creepy santa voice. He had to wear sunglasses so his niece wouldn't recognize him. I wish I had a video.

Family Competition

I have said before that we use to show steers. I loved it. Last weekend my niece had a show, I talked Kendall into showing in the peewee showmanship.

I was standing right by her (I just cropped myself out). Both her and my other niece, Reagan showed they didn't win but that's not what matters. It was great that they just got out there.

Now, they also had a over the hill showmanship class. Now that is all about winning! My sister and I have some sort of weird sibling competition thing going on. So I wanted to win!

But I didn't. She beat me. Next time it's on Sis!

Need a last minute present??

Here it is

It's a wrapping station. Everything you need to wrap your presents...other than the actual wrapping paper. The other side

Stop by Sonic and pick up some drink holders, put in some bows, tags, tape, markers and let your inner scrapbooker come out. I can not take credit for it. My taleted friend Lisa gave this to me. I love it! Isn't it cute?

Cheap and Easy ...

Holiday decorations. A couple of years ago I came home and my tree looked like this. I couldn't bring myself to throw the branches out so I used them around the house.

Like above our armoire...

I also use my left over ornaments everywhere! Just put them in glass jars or a cake plate.

Baked Potato Dip

This dip could not be easier. I had it at a Open house a couple weeks ago and it was addicting!

Baked Potato Dip

16 oz Sour Cream
Pkg sharp cheddar cheese(2cups)
Block cream cheese
Real bacon bits (3 oz jars)
1 bunch of green onions

Melt the cream cheese then add all ingredients.

St. Nick {2010}

We paid St. Nick a visit last night at the Sophienburg Museum. Every year on the 5th night of December St. Nick comes. This is kind of a German tradition. We haven't done this in a couple of years and Kendall actually reminded me of it so off we went with 30 mins to get ready. At our house (when I was younger) sometimes St. Nick's presents were better than Santa'a...you know, good things come in small packages.:) When I told her my dad got oranges, apples and nuts she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Opie didn't get any toys?"

Then we decided to go downtown and take some Christmas pictures. We are fortunate to live in a town that has a beautiful display of lights downtown. Our town is growing but it still has that small town feeling...which I love.

Our new baby cousin...

Needs our prayers. Skeet was born 2 1/2 months early. Please pray for his little body to fight and for my cousin's Malcom and Lynette and their 2 girls. This is the 1st boy out of 5 girls so he has to be tough to put up with all of his cousin's.
